



What are we about?
FHED, Inc is an apolitical, U.S.-based nonprofit organization created on January 1, 2000 to fight worldwide poverty. We have a classification from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) registered at 04-3728123 on October 1st 2002 - whose mission is to implementing culturally appropriate, humanitarian development programs that help reduce poverty in the United States and abroad.
At FHED, Inc, we understand that in order to promote social change, we need to address the structural causes of poverty. FHED, Inc. works to empower communities to advocate for their own long term sustainable livelihoods. FHED, Inc prides itself on being a source of knowledge and expertise for other grassroots associations and organizations that are already engaged in development. Providing for the increasing demands of the citizens of Haiti as well as the youth of New York City in the areas of education, health care, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture are some of the challenges that FHED, Inc faces as a non-governmental organization.

FHED Academy (Primary School) Founded on Sept 22, 2003 in Carice, Haiti. During the 2008-2009 school year, 404 students from Pre-K to 3rd grade were enrolled.
