What are we about?
The Foundation for Humanitarian Education and Development (FHED, Inc) is an apolitical Nonprofit Organization, a U.S.-based public charity created to fight worldwide poverty. We have a 501 (c) (3) classification from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) - whose mission is to implementing culturally-appropriate humanitarian and integrated development programs that help reduce poverty in the United States of America and abroad.
FHED, Inc prides itself on being a source of knowledge and expertise for other grassroots associations and organizations that are already engaged in development. FHED's staff pursues this mission by addressing key policies issues and bringing the expertise and direct knowledge to the field. Since our establishment in 2000, we have given special attention to rural development by establishing food security in rural Haitian communities, transforming land and lagoons into successful food production sites, and providing educational development training to better the lives of marginalized citizens. Providing for the increasing demands in the areas of education, health care, and sustainable agriculture are some of the challenges that FHED, Inc faces as a non-governmental organization.

FHED Academy (Primary School) Founded on Sept 22, 2003 in Carice, Haiti. During the 2008-2009 school year, 404 students from Pre-K to 3rd grade were enrolled.
