The Humanitarian Foundation for Education and Development (FHED, Inc) is an apolitical Nonprofit Organization, an U.S.-based public charity created to fight worldwide poverty.  We have a 501 (c) (3) classification from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) - whose mission is to implementing culturally-appropriate humanitarian and development  programs that help reduce poverty in the United States of America and abroad.  FHED, Inc  prides itself on being a source of knowledge and expertise for others grassroots asssociations and organizations that are already engaged in development.  FHED' s staff pursues this mission by adressing key policies issues and bringing the expertise and direct knowledge to the field.  Since our establishment in 2000, we have given special attention on rural development by feeding hungry people, providing fresh water by ensuring healthy nutrition for the communities and providing educational development training to better the lives of  the neediest.  Providing for the increasing demands in the areas of education, health care, and sustainable agriculture are some of the challenges that FHED, Inc faces as an NGO.

FHED Academy (kindergarten-Prim) Founded on Sept 22, 2003 Carice, Haiti

378 students from pre-k to 3rd grade have been enrolled during the 2007-2008 school year.

FHED, Inc is holding its first annual Health Awareness Clinic in Carice, Northeast of Haiti, from August 16-18, 2008 to commemorate Saint Helen celebration.  Cuban and Haitian doctors will be on site to provide free health and dental screennigs to the citizens of Carice and surrounding areas.  The doctors are in urgent need of medical supplies.  We are therefore requesting donations of medical supplies and medications, such as insulin, high blood pressure medicine, Nifedipine, Tylenol, aspirin, Gloves, antibiotic ointement, condoms, etc.
